Game of Thrones’ again managed to retain the throne of the most pirated TV shows of 2015. Game of thrones has managed to score on top with 14.4 million downloads fourth time in a row followed by ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’, two other popular TV shows of 2015 with over 6.9 million and 4.4 million downloads respectively.If we take a closer look at the numbers, TV series Game of Thrones, has been downloaded twice as many times as ‘The Walking Dead’ and more than thrice ‘The Big Bang theory’.
More than half of the downloads of this TV show occurred in the first week after the show was aired. Pirated download surpassed even the estimated US TV viewers.
The story does not end here. After 480p print, the most common prints downloaded from the internet were 720p and 1080p. Looks like internet users have decided to watch the TV series in higher resolution at their homes.
Also, the data shown above is from the torrents. These numbers exclude the data from the file-sharing or online TV shows. Otherwise, the number would have been much higher.

In the list of top 10 most pirated movies of 2015, Interstellar tops the list of Top 10 Most Pirated Movies of 2015 with over 46.7 million downloads followed by Furious 7 and Avengers: Age of Ultron with over 44.7 million downloads and 41.4 million downloads respectively.The popularity of Interstellar led it to become the most pirated movies of 2015. There were other factors as well to these downloads. These factors were increasing internet speed in the developing country like Brazil and easier file sharing and online movies platform that earlier years.
Seems there is no end to the piracy over the internet and it will keep on coming up in forms of online movie platforms, torrents groups, file sharing etc.
