“Surface Book is Deluded”, Tim Cook Slams Microsoft’s First Laptop
Just a day ago, channeling the capabilities of Apple iPad Pro, Tim Cook said that iPad Pro is a perfect laptop replacement. While everybody refused to accept this fact, Tim Cook went two steps ahead and called the more laptop-like Surface Book “deluded”.
“It’s a product that tries to do too much. It’s trying to be a tablet and a notebook and really succeeds at being neither. It’s sort of deluded,” he said.
The reviews of Apple’s iPad Pro are out and it has been labelled as a bigger and powerful iPad that commits Microsoft Surface’s mistakes. iPad Pro lacks any kind of mouse input and the iOS 9 operating system is simply tablet focused.
On the other hand, Microsoft Surface Book was received with open arms and praised for its pioneer design, making it a true laptop-tablet hybrid. Microsoft presented it as the best laptop ever created and compared it head-to-head with MacBook Pro.
I’m a fan of Apple devices and iPads are a great piece of engineering that are capable of doing their jobs very well. But, iPad Pro is just a bigger iPad and this fact can’t be neglected. The lack of any input support tells that the device is just made for touch-based apps.
Tagging Surface Book ‘deluded’ and calling iPad Pro a laptop replacement might be a part of some promotional strategy. But, even die-hard Apple fans are having a hard time digesting Mr. Cook’s latest statements.
